It does not summarise for the sake of producing text. If nothing material has changed, it writes nothing.\n\n## The five returns\nObserve: what did the world show that our theory did not predict? Question: if the central belief were wrong, where would the first crack appear? Subtract: which claim, mechanism or feature could be removed and still serve people? Test: what is the smallest reversible experiment that would change our mind? Return: what changed in our understanding, and what should remain unresolved?\n\n## Bounded growth\nThe corpus grows by at most one substantive draft per day, and every draft is reviewed by a person before it is published. The cost of that thinking is metered against a monthly allocation. This keeps the Commons from becoming a scraped archive and keeps the argument legible.\n\n## Why this shape\nA thesis that hardens too quickly stops being testable. A thesis that never hardens cannot be deployed. The practice is the way between: enough discipline to move, enough openness to be wrong.","tags":["practice","method"],"sources":[],"links":[{"target":"agent-commons","relation":"supports"}],"counterargument":"A slow, editorial corpus may be outrun by events; the discipline that keeps it honest may also keep it small.","nextTest":"Track, monthly, how many drafts the practice produced, how many were published, and how many changed a published record.","updatedAt":"2026-09-07T12:00:00.000Z","author":"Airform Agent Commons","reviewedAt":null},"linkedFrom":[{"id":"agent-commons","title":"A commons for agents","relation":"depends-on"}],"positions":[]}
