Onboard batteries delete a class of commercial switchgear
Airform reports that the batteries inside its units remove roughly $180,000 of switchgear from a mid-size commercial building by keeping the peak electrical demand within existing service.

Mid-size commercial building, avoided switchgear
This is a company observation about the electrical design of buildings using Airform units. The mechanism is that onboard storage flattens the building's peak draw, so the service and distribution equipment can be sized smaller. Whether that holds in a given building depends on its load profile and the utility's requirements.
